UAH ASCE Student Chapter

The ASCE Student Chapter is deemed as one of the most active and productive student chapter in the Southeastern region. Since its first national competition in 1988, UAH Concrete Canoe Team has won five (5) national championships.

UAH placed 3rd (after University of Florida and University of Puerto Rico) in the 2016 ASCE Southeast Student conference hosted at University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa.

Be an Engineering STudent (BEST) Summer Enrichment Camp
UAH Be an Engineering STudent (BEST) Experience Summer Camp is a week-long activity which enrolls ~40 high school students each year, and it gives high-school students a taste of what being an engineer student at UAH is all about.  Students will go to engineering classes, perform hands-on experiments in engineering labs, participate in UAH student life activities, and work on project teams. 2015 Best Summer Camp
(Dr. Hongyu Zhou gave a presentation on Civil Engineering, and led the "Natural Hazard Engineering" Hands-on Experience Sessions.
